Default 991.2s will have a 2019 model year

Per my SA as of yesterday, July builds will be 2019s with the configurator going live in April.

Yes. Order doesn’t get locked until July, so waiting until the 2019 configurator is up to see if there are any changes.

I wonder if the allocation I finally found recently which was for a June lock / Sept delivery, was in fact for a 2019 model.

June might still be a 2018

Ok. but still interested in the whole 2019 thing and trading to my own build opposed to a used car I got through impatience. I thought patience grew stronger with age?

If the configurator goes live in April, and lockdown isn't until June, wouldn't that be a 2019 build?

I imagine a June lockdown will mean a July build, owing to the summer factory shut down?

I have heard this in another thread too. I wonder if that means the 992 will be a 2020 or if Porsche will do a split year like the 2012 997/991.

Paxton, sorry, not a July lock. It will be June lock, July build with September delivery,..hopefully,...and a 2019 model year, as others have suggested.

Got it, the factory will be closed from 7/16 until 9/14 this year. Your car should be built in the first couple weeks of July.

Is it confirmed that factory will be closed on 16/7? According to my dealer factory will close in August for 1 month.

I plan to go for ED end of July therefore I will have clear input soon.

I'm planning an ED as well and emailed the factory tour department directly.
This is what they said "We don’t offer factory tours from 16. July 2018 to 14. September 2018. In this period the factory is closed due to our company holidays."

Another question would be whether there will be a limited set of configurable allocations for the MY 2019 991.2 cars if they do a split year. Although an official release announcement of the 992 edition 911s has yet to occur. Lots of 'leaks', but still waiting on the official word.

Quick Reply: 991.2s will have a 2019 model year
