This is what they said "We don’t offer factory tours from 16. July 2018 to 14. September 2018. In this period the factory is closed due to our company holidays."

I can't imagine many options changes. Has anyone heard anything?

Thanks for the feedback. This means that second week of July should be my trip to Leipzig...

The factory closure is just shy of 2 months. Does anyone know what a normal, non-transition period (e.g. 991.2 > 992) factory closure timeframe is? BMW uses a 2 week period in late August for maintenance of the production lines to get ready for the new MY. This is getting curiouser and curiouser.

Factory needs to close in order to adjust the production line with new EU requirements for CO2 emmisions.
Google for new EU emmisions and you will get all the root cause.

I have a tentative 7/4 pick-up in Zuffenhausen. Unless my car is built in the very first days of July, I might have to reschedule. In your case, your car will have to be trucked to Leipzig which might add a couple days to your delivery.

I am waiting confirmation from Porsche AG about the exact date for factory visit.
My car will be either June or July production. Most probably July with delivery on August.

I thought that all 911s are delivered in Leipzig. My AD told me that Leipzig delivery and track experience is great experience.

Time to start plan my root for 10 days driving towards Alpes and Monaco...

All 911s are made in Stuttgart. I did a Leipzig delivery last year as Zuffenhausen wasn't available since the plant was being updated for the new Mission E.

Leipzig was great though and the track experience loads of fun, you'll have a blast!

Just read this on the 991.2 GT3 RS forum:

"Small update from Geneva show yesterday. First round of UK allocations being built now until April then factory shutdown much longer than usual May to August. This is due to retooling for both 992 and emissions regs changes.

Launch of 992 delayed from late this year to early next, prob feb. Will produce more cars from September. No word on when RS production will stop but if it happens like last time GTS and GT models will be made for a bit alongside 992 base models which will be the first introduced. So that sounds like into first half of 2019."

So now I'm really confused

Sounds like a few 992s will be built starting February, 2019, but the main 992 production will occur starting September, 2019 as 2020 cars. MY 2019 911 production will be 991.2 editions.

Not the way I read it, I believe the poster is saying more cars will be produced in September of this year after this unusually long factory break. 992s are delayed from late this year to February of next year. You are correct regarding the 2019s still being 991.2s. I said I was confused but it was regarding the factory closure dates. I was told the factory will be closed from mid July to mid September. The person on the .2 RS forum is saying the factory will be closed for retooling/new emissions requirements from May until August.

Quick Reply: 991.2s will have a 2019 model year
