For heat blocking it’s all about the IR (infa red) blocking. It does make a difference even on a cab (with the top up). I have not noticed any effects with the film in my cars due to polarized sun glasses etc. no haze either. So the advice I would give is use good/great film and installer.

I wore polarized sunglasses on a sunny drive to work today, in a SE direction, ie lots of angled and full on sun. Didn't see rainbows but I did sense possibly the milky effect mentioned without the sunglasses, I was particularly looking for it, flipping my glasses up and down.
