Default Porsche CPO warranty?

I'm about to wrap up the purchase of a 991 that comes with the Porsche CPO. I've read some content that seems to imply for the CPO to cover warranty repairs ALL Porsche recommended service MUST be completed at a PORSCHE dealership. Is that true? If I change my own oil can they really deny my warranty coverage if I can prove with receipts that the oil and filter change occurred? Even if I paid to have an independent mechanic to change oil and filters I would think it would be hard for them to refuse warranty coverage. What have others experienced?

Thanks!

Nope, just keep documentation that the work was done (service tickets for independent shops and receipts for supplies used in DIY).

Of course, having service done at a dealer can assist with any good will requests (like break-downs just after the warranty ends).

Nope. Post the content and source. I would be interested in who is putting out the BS.

If you would like to rely on something more than the correct responses from fellow Rennlister's, read the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

Default Dealers goodwill

Perhaps there is a dealer somewhere that has "goodwill" or acted in a manner that portrays "goodwill" but in my years on this earth I have not encountered them. Perform mainenance for a reasonable cost (either DIY or indy) and maintain your vehicle for a reasonable cost.

Thanks for the responses. That is helpful. I'm glad to hear it's fine to do DIY and I've always kept flawless records so that should not be a problem. I had called the local Porsche dealer and he certainly implied that the service had to be through a Porsche dealer for the CPO to be valid. I've got the facts now.

From Porsche of what CPO will not cover:
  • Improper repairs by someone other than Porsche Cars N.A. or it’s authorized dealers.
Maintain your car within your DIY capabilities and don't wine when the dealer won't cover something you break.
