You missed your "rationalizing" stage...."WTF....I spent over 100k on a car and I can not have the car start without this feature off that I hate". I am thankful my 991.1 and my wife's X5 keeps the last setting when you turn the car on. It would drive me mad if I could not turn that feature off.....It would be a constant reminder of government micromanaging my life. Ok, I am calm now.

Have you looked into T-Design.....they have software so that your car stays in on setting for autostartstop, sport, and pse. Do not know much about it but may be worth looking into it.

Abe.

Looks like the T Design memory module will only work if you don’t have the sport/ Sport Plus/ Individual wheel on the stalk ...

Not a fan of Auto Start/Stop in my 991.2 Cab..... plus I'm really worried about what is going to happen with the turbos by the sudden lack of lubrication every other couple of minutes. For highway is OK and I like the fact that you can coast without having the transmission engaged, but in the city and heavy traffic, the history is different.

How fast are the turbos spinning at idle?

Well put. Exactly!

It's just one more reason to keep our .1's since that feature can be permanently disabled!

Absolutely! I would hate living with that. Feel sorry for .2 folk.

My car is a 991.1, so I can start with the start/stop mode on or off by default. Funny thing is I've never used it, but once a service tech had pressed the button during service and didn't tell me. I got the car back from service and kept thinking at first that something was wrong with the car as the engine kept dying! LOL!

The .1s and .2s are both amazing vehicles but the ability to keep auto stop/start off indefinitely or even permanently is a nice perk for the old school, NA, .1 enthusiasts.

I am with the OP because of the coasting mode. Otherwise on mine it's in the off position or in Sport mode.

Why Porsche won't provide a software fix for this is mind boggling. I have to endure killing the AC and radio each time I start the car.
I've perfected the darn thing by keeping my hand on the gear shifter and turning off the AC with my middle finger, while sending lots of love to Stuttgart engineers with that same finger, and turning off the radio with my thumb!
Having to disable the start/stop would add to the annoying routine list...

I agree on the radio. For AC though why not put it in "Auto" and set the temp to your liking? If temp delta is small, you would hardly notice the climate control unit working, otherwise you would appreciate it's doing it's thing

I hear you but why should the radio or AC turn on by default? I had this AC feature coded off on my DD BMW.
The default for all this gadgetry should be "last setting." Damned engineers...

That I totally agree with. Default to last settings.
