This is the sole reason I may consider a PDK car in the future. It's getting complicated to drive, shift gears, and work my calculator on the curvy sections.

very true! And at least the 911has both temp and pressure readings. My ‘07 Cayman S has neither! So I’m adding a Sport Chrono POD with a VDO oil temp gauge. It does have an oil pressure warning light, but that would be too late in my opinion. Bar/psi is minor stuff!

This issue will go away with the 992 for better or worse.....

That's another point. I've never understood why manufacturers almost always provide a pressure gauge without a temperature gauge. If I could only have one, I'd gladly take a temperature gauge. If your engine truly has a pressure problem, chances are overwhelming that damage will be done before you'll notice it on a gauge. On the other hand, I've found a temperature gauge to be of immense value for determining when it's safe to begin caning the engine after a cold start, as well as letting me know when things are becoming too hot.

Yeah good point, whenever they give you an oil problem in the simulator necessitating an engine shutdown, it’s always decreasing pressure and reservoir quantity along with increasing temperature.

I wonder if running in “normal” where it lets the oil temp up to 230 rather than “sport/sport+” where it tries to keep it at 194 gives you less ability to respond to a problem before you incur engine damage.

Amazing that the Bar is 14.504 but atmospheric pressure is 14.7 PSI (well actually 14.6959 but who's counting). Must be an elevation thing.

Sure enough, elevation in Suttgart--and Detroit--is around 800-900 feet.

Not at my house (11.3 psi).

What's amazing? At sea level ATM pressure is 1.01325 bar.
