When I got my Racing Yellow (Yeller) 981 I had several friends tell me "You'll get tired of that color pretty quickly." Wrong! I loved it, and I really missed it when I traded it in. I was very, very fortunate to find exactly the car that I was looking for as Racing Yellow is not easy to find. I find it's a really polarizing color. People either love it, or they hate it. Very few are ambivalent. That's quite alright with me.

Truth be told, the RY was my wife's idea...something about a bucket list, to own a yellow 911, I was all over the Lava Orange examples.
Enjoy Yeller and if you're ever passing through CT, give my Rumble Bee a chance to meet him, she's also a '15.

Correct you are, strong colors are not for the weak of heart. I would never buy a 911 in "traditional" color, in my mind it kills the beautiful, aggressive lines of the Carrera.

You should "cirrusly" consider a custom "Yeller" plate. The color and vocals that a GTS is capable of make it quite the "Yeller!" Have some fun and late haters hate!

The red, white and blue aren't going to go with the bright yellow, and Yeller and Yeller! are already taken. OLD YELR is available, but I can't get past the color combination.
We have a specialty tag that's yellow, green and black that looks like this, and YELR is available. I'll probably just go that route.

Awesome find. Reminds me of my 987 Boxster of similar color. Had it for about a year then went back to a 997.2 but yes the color is not for the faint of heart! Everyone will always know where you are and where you've been...that alone was a bit much for me! LOL
Here's mine Speed Yellow getting a new exhaust and intakes at Fabspeed back in 2010. Enjoy her..your find is a beauty!

OP - I do like the non standard plate better, YELR will have to do.
mdrobc - sweet ride!
I might as well post a pic of Rumble Bee since this is officially the YELLER thread.
