With the 991.1 is there any way to see the actual street you're going to be driving on or get more detail about the different route options available? The other day I was going on a long trip and the preview is so small I couldn't tell which road each one was taking me on. Rather annoying!

 

Yeah the Porsche navi is not intuitive and all and a real PITA!

Displaying sections of the route

If you have started the route guidance component of your navigation system, a list containing all sections of your route will be displayed.

1. Press the button.
2. Press the button or touch the tab of the same name in the header.
3. Select "Route list".
   The sections of your route are listed and displayed.
   The section you are currently driving on is at the very top of this list and the final destination is at the very bottom.
4. Select the desired section for a more detailed view.
   You then see a map section showing the route section in question.
5. You can change the map scale if necessary by selecting the two symbols and and browse the various sections by selecting the symbols and .
6. If you would like to make a detour around this section of your route, select "Detour".
   To find out more about setting detours, please refer to the section "Setting a detour" on page 133.

This function is also available under the "Route list" menu item in the menu.
If off-road navigation is activated, a restricted version of this function is available with so called landmark navigation.

 

Tried the above and its no bueno.

When you choose the route you want, hit the "info" button and it will give you the street by street breakdown.
