Germany will KILL it's economy. The companies that produce cars in non Socialist countries will reap the benefits. If Porsche was wise, they'd move some manufacturing to the US. Let Porsche do what they want, they're not getting my $$.

Angela Merkel isn't going to tell me what to drive.

Anyway, enough said on that. Time will tell what happens.

I've gotten that response from a few dealers also, hopefully something will shake loose next week.

Not to derail the thread even further,.but I can think of very many prominent US politicians who can't wait to outlaw combustion cars first, and all human driving next.

I've been looking for a GTS Coupe allocation for a couple of month's, first through local dealers then through an agent. The dealer I bought my Macan from has said it's a fair assumption that I will not get one, so this weekend I picked up a lightly used C4. Not what I spec'd but I'm smiling all the same.

How did that go for anyone?

PS I did finally find an allocation but for a mid September delivery. I've waited that long before, never again.

interesting to see how limited 991 carrera allocations have become. I though it was just the GT3 supply that had dried up. BTW, there are very few GT3 allocations left for North America for the entire rest of 2018. I know as my long-time dealer told me recently that they wouldn’t be able to supply me with the GT3 for which I placed a deposit 2.5 years ago! I spent the last two weeks calling dealers and speaking with brokers all over before finally getting an allocation.

I thought Porsche was more focused on their turbo lines to meet emissions targets, but it seems they are neglecting all their 991 model allocations. Agree they are likely focusing on European cars before euro 6 takes effect in September, also I think it’s very likely the 992 carrera will be formally announced this fall, and they don’t want too many newly produced 991 Carreras on the lot that they have to heavily discount.

Frustrated by the lack of available allocations, I was lucky to find a '17 GTS Targa 4 on a lot near me! They had to punch the ticket on the car, but it only had 60 miles on it and came with a 6-year unlimited miles warranty that kicked in in August '17. Got a decent discount on it and it was spec'ed largely the way I wanted. Had a manual, which was most important to me. Had a few things I wouldn't have selected (full leather, GTS interior package), but now that I have them I absolutely love them! Makes the interior of the car so much nicer! Anyway, good luck to those still looking. It's rough out there!

That said, I couldn't pass this up, as it's a fantastic build, and was had at a discount. I, like bwiele, prefer my interiors a certain way, and this one just spoke to me. I do wish it had 3 additional options, but they can always be added down the road.

Keep looking, they are out there.

Wow. That was a fortunate snag for you!

Where did people end up on this? Haven't seen any "woo! I got my allocation" replies or threads popping up.

I went with a Targa 4S with the Powerkit. GTS without all the black stuff that I don’t care for anyway.

On the boat to me now.

Nice work! I prefer it without the black stuff as well.

But with an allocation from last year right? Not since January if it's on a boat.

Order “locked” in January, production in February. So January allocation?

How about "the right of the people to acquire, keep and bear internal combustion engine driven automobile shall not be infringed." amendment?
