For a weekend/no track time car you'll likely come to dislike the LWB. You'll think they're cool at first and then change your mind. They're terrific on the track but a hassle in all other cases - passengers esp. will hate them and they will mess up your bolsters.

Personal choice - If I were buying a new car and didn't want a Cab it would be a T or a GT3 depending on budget.

Personally on a 911T/CarreraT... I'd try to keep the optional items low. The point of the T is less fluff, IMHO. I understand the allure of spec'ing PCCB and Sport Buckets so IF these two are must-haves then fine... but you're going to shoot that bang-for-the-buck factor out of the window real quick. On that note, here's some of my opinionated critique on this T build.

^See? That's alot of moolah on a Carrera T.... this is why I stated go with a GTS (rwd, manual, coupe) instead.

agree on all accounts. 130K is the base price of a GT3. Certainly a GTS since GT3's are trading for stupid markup.

Keep the 4S or go GTS.

btw. I had a solid jet black (non-metallic) cayman S and it's maintenance was a nightmare. I would def pay the $720 for the metallic option.

I agree. (And I have a T on order, but modestly specced.) If my budget could comfortably stretch to a GTS, I would have gone for a manual, rear wheel drive GTS coupe.

Default GT3/2 cars aside... see below.

I'm sure some of you may have seen this already in the 991 GT3/GT3RS/911R subforum.... but take a look again at both the T and the GTS models. I plopped red arrows so you don't wander too far away! Praises galore and rightfully so... IMO these two models are bang on! Just control your emotions aka options (wants vs. needs) and spec based on your intended use.... specifically for that bang for the buck factor. Not that any 991.2 is inexpensive anyway so whatever.... carry on.

Totally agree with R_Rated on this one. Whether the GTS or the T, order a stripper. The value is in minimalazation. My SA also showed me something really interesting. If they pull up the leasing software there is a sales price per model where you max out on the residual. In essence, even Porsche knows that after certain amounts, the options you add do not truly add value. For the T it was 13k if memory serves me right. up to that number you got the max residual.

I believe $120,000 is the max residual and anything over that is taken on the chin...

Agree on all counts as well.....except the base prices of a GT3 is $144k.

Sounds like the OP wants more luxury items than a T was really built for. He should stick with his 4S.

Based on how you optioned the two cars, I think you'd get better value out of considering a GTS with only the options you need.

The only thing I would add to a GTS is the standard interior in black (which makes you add $1500 for seat heating/ventilation and gives you some leather) and the heated multifunction steering wheel (also leather by default). Dont like alcantara, although I guess it would be ok for a weekend ride.

Check that I also need the axle lift, my driveway has a small curb.

To each their own, but I don't really get a T with a sunroof.

Seriously?

Let me just say HELL to the NO.

A super expensive T over a 4S much closer to its base MSRP and with higher performance? $8K is a very small margin between those two cars.
