My 2015 has a back up camera, and I have seen 2014's equipped with them. So it depends on what the original owner spec'd.

Delete this, or not. My comment was redundant, didn’t realize this was a zombie thread. The mobile browser sucks for this website.

You sure those 2014's were OEM? I ask because MSRP on my C4S is $167k and the person that bought it originally pretty much checked every option imaginable; no backup camera, though.

Build code 638 according to this for 2014 model year.

So, I guess I'm going to be looking at 2016's !!
What I want is going to be kinda' limiting...a 4 S Cabrio in certain colors...
I guess a retro fit is not out of the question,,,
Question about that, Has anyone done a retro fit?
Does it work with the standard head unit, same as factory option,,,and what is the approximate cost?
I did a retrofit on my 2014 C2 Cab. The cost with the addition of wireless Apple CarPlay was about $1,600.00. FWIW the camera is better than the factory camera on my 2019 GTS Cab. Visibility while backing up a Cab with the top up sucks. I rationalized that if it prevented one accident, it was worth it. You can save money if you do the work yourself, but there’s a lot to it. I’m including a photo of the finished product.

What components went into that?

My 2013 991 doesn't have them and I honestly don't miss them. Visibility is so good and the dimensions are so compact that it is not an issue for me. Could not imagine driving my Raptor or my wife's GLS 450 without them.

IDCORE out of the UK.

There are certainly many similar products. This involved adding a board to the PCM. All factory functions were preserved. I did not suggest the product. I used a good vendor-installer in Atlanta, CarTunes. They did a great job.

Know someone with a ‘14 Targa. He bought it new, spec’d from factory with every bell n’ whistle. He’s really annoyed from day one there’s no backup camera. Lead’s me to believe that just wasn’t an option in 2014 or he would have definitely added it.

I’ve got used to backup cams on my cars long ago when cheaper cars made them standard. Therefore the first mod I did on my ‘14 C2 was add Apple Carplay just so I could integrate a cam. Since then I’ve gotten to really like Apple Carplay. Need to find a way to implement that in my daily driver now.
