why is it an issue for resale?
lets assume I put the stock cats back before resale;
is the CEL somehow stored in the VAL or DME and potential buyers who run a PPI woukd see this?
If yes - thats a good reason for me NOT to run the bypass and stick with sport cats. But let me know your reasoning around resale issues.

I am sure the ECU stores the code but if you plan on returning it to stock it shouldn't be an issue as long as the light re-sets itself. Don't know how it works with the Porsche ECU. In the end if your plan is to go back to stock setup for resale you could explain it away.

Lacking catalytic converters in general you'll be in the same boat. We'll do everything we can to prevent your CEL and / or set you up with the right tune to prevent that.

Soul bypass here. Love how they sound on the outside of the car. Inside, it's still pretty quiet with the exception of hearing the turble whoosh indoors or driving along side a barrier. Odor is strong at times (usually rolling to a stop light where you are stopped for more than a few seconds), but that's expected and not as bad as some of my previous rides. Def worth the $ and would recommend to anyone that gets one of these 3,0TT 911's.

I have bypass pipes.. CEL is intermittent. Sometimes no CEL for months. Sometimes CEL for 10 days straight and then it disappears. I have 02 extenders too.

Seems like grandpa/grandma style driving triggers the CEL when it's off.. By granny driving I mean 5% throttle for extended periods on the city/highway.

I love the sound and performance.. Wouldn't have it any other way. Smell is there if I stop at a light after I've been romping on it.. Other than that no smell issues.

Phil from Fabspeed here.
We recommend when going cat bypass you tune the 991.2.
Some of the posters have stated the same issue when you go cat bypass with O2 extenders. The O2 extenders do a great job of handling most of the issues but occasionally you might get a cel. A tune can stop these issues and altogether and a ton of HP gain.

How do you reset your CELs? I leery of the COBB route unless my dealer goes along with it.

Anybody: Can the iCarsoft P700 V2.0 reset the CEL from bypass pipes? I have the mini-cat extenders, but got a CEL at fuel stop 30 miles after installing bypass pipes.

Is the cat bypass and stock PSE center can the loudest possible set up for the 991.2?

it sounds good, but I want it louder!

I was advised removing the center can will NOT actually increase volume as its essentailly straight through with PSE engaged.

I was also told if I removed cats and muffler it would be nothing but turbo spool - no growl.

Any thoughts on the loudest set up?

Here's our Trackback Turbo Back Exhaust - straight pipes from the headers back - which will let you hear what removing cats and the mufflers will sound like.

Here is a side by side I threw together.
991.2 Carrera T with cat bypass and PSE
997.2 GTS with straight pipes - both side cans and center can removed.

At idle, T is louder
Yes - there is turbo spool mixed in with that flat 6 sound
The T is “louder” more volume
The GTS also sounds killer - but without all mufflers removed the 997 was quiet
Different motors, different sounds
Both sound great with exhaust mods
Both are waaaay too quiet stock IMO

Thanks for your video!!
did you get your T tuned? I can see some back fires!
I have a bypass cat and got ECL often, and once the car in the limp mode, it feels much slower and use lot more gas....

You need o2 spacers - no CEL. And no tune for me.
certainly not slower with more free flowing cats.

headers are next to open it up some more.
