I recall seeing a $2600 bill the original owner paid the dealership to have front only (bumper, 70% hood, 70% fender, side mirror, door handle and door edge) on my previous 987.2 S. Gave me the shivers just seeing that bill....

I just got mine done with Xpel, pretty much the same thing, without the door handle, but added a quarter piece on the rear bumper behind the wheel for rock chips.

All said and done $750...yes is not "seamless" around the lights etc. (they are just standard template cut and not hand cut) but I am def not picky since i know i would eventually have to re-do the PPF in 7-8 years because it will start turning color no matter what.....and for about 50% of the going rate, I am ok with the slight imperfection :-)

Get paint correction done first. Then full front PPF then ceramic coat over entire car. I did that in a top shop in the Boston area. $3000 total.

Doesn't make any difference because any good installer will wipe it with alcohol/water solution to make sure all wax and polymers are stripped off. And they will use only quality new microfiber cloths doing it.

I had one of the best Chicagoland installers install Suntek film on my new 991.2 in the hobby garage of one of my PCA pals. I got full frontal PPF including around sides and top of windshield, rockers and sills, fore & aft rear wheel areas, mirrors, door edges, and door handle pockets. The new Suntek PPF is superior to the 3-1/2 year old Expel I had on my 991.1. It has a significantly harder finish than the older Expel, and a lower surface tension, so water beads right off it. On my Black car it looks the same as bare paint. Impressive! Mine cost me $1900.

Its not stretched on. Less surface tension?

Which shop did you use cpbmd? I'm looking for a good place for my 911 T which I am about to take delivery of.

I’m fairly **** about things too but I would rather have the car done by someone local so I can inspect the work and deal with any issues more easily.
Mid the 20 mile drive is giving you anxiety drive it to the installer early in the am to avoid traffic. Bring coffee and wait for them to open.

Wow, that's a good price! No paint correction, though, right?

My 911 was new, and the dealer hadn't screwed up the paint. That is about the right price around Chicagoland for a good installer. There are some who would do it for less, but it might not be what you want.

I just used Leeberbs, got my car yesterday. he was great to work with, full front ppf (bumper, hood, headlights, mirrors, a-pillar and roof line, rear impact area behind rear wheels), plus nanolex SI3D ceramic. In fact, Lee was recommended by Phil at DD (which says as much about Phil as it does about Lee). Both have great reputations, i went with Lee because he was much closer to me in Central NJ. Good luck. (I have some picks posted in my "worth the wait" thread, should be page 1 or 2 in the 991 GT3 Forum area).
