VIN decoder accuracy question.

VIN decoder accuracy question.
Saw an ad from a local dealer here in Scottsdale for used 911. Their specs on the car differ dramatically from the VIN decoder’s info. MSRP is off by 35k, several features mentioned in car don’t appear in the Decoder list. For example, They say it has the sport Chrono but the vin decoder report doesn’t mention it. Is the decoder generally comprehensive and accurate in terms of all the features of that vin specimen?

Which VIN decoder? I've seen a lot of the Porsche admin ones and I've never been aware of one being wrong except for dealer-added options.

This too.
Also, dealer ads are notoriously incorrect. If using the dealer decoder, that’s very accurate.

I had texted a salesperson I knew there...asked about this...Just new checking again, they already changed the listing title (it originally said Carrera S GT...whatever that was)... and they clarified the transmission (it originally said "7 speed" and came up when I searched for manuals on CarGurus, and now it says automatic). Anyway, when I punch in this VIN here on rennlist, I get some different data compared to what they report. Mainly the MSRP, now that they've edited the listing. Sport chrono is listed by them. I SEE the chrono in their pics, yet the rennlist vin decoder doesn't show it...insofar as I can tell...
My main goal here is to educate myself. I thought that finding the original build list and features and MSRP was useful in the process of valuing a used car...But if the info isn't accurate...?
Thanks

Yeah, that one doesn't seem that great. But the one we commonly use is a bit of a hack.., but it gives you the right data.
Copy the following url, then change the VIN to the car you want. This will result in a pop up window for printing the info on the car. You can then just cancel the print pop up and you'll have the desired info sitting in a window for viewing.

My GT4 was not coming up with all of the options it had with the Porsce decoder. Later, and now it does. So its not always accurate. It left off the top two lines of options in both columns when I first ran it
