Well it's my wife's birthday weekend/week/fortnight so I probably won't get to look at this for a little while, but If I can get it running on a bench then I'll definitely have a go at getting the OS loaded

I just hate it when something "more shiny" becomes available!!

I think that unit is pretty old tech when you look at the spec e.g. 4+64GB?

But totally agree that if Mekede are already shipping products compatible with Porsche then they may well offer us some of the new kit in the future

I think you would not be alone. The interface/GUI looks terrific, and even the phone dialler looks good. If Andy, or another of our tech geniuses, manages to load the OS onto one of the current units, that would be awesome. I'd imagine Medeke would have taken steps to prevent that, but they may be failing to take account of the determined resourcefulness of our intrepid band of modders . But as that reviewer says, this unit is a game changer.

I sent Mekede an email about whether they are planning on making an updated unit for our cars. Will share if they respond.

I just watched this video all the way through - all I can say is WOW!!!









At last a well designed and beautifully crafted marriage of hardware and software.

So many of the niggles and issues we have reported on this thread have been thought about and addressed in the software, although how it works in practice in a specific car/canbus configuration remains to be seen!

I really recommend you take a look at the video!

I just managed to install their launcher on a very old Android phone - not tried to do anything with it yet, but here we go....
