Once members of a population have made up their mind that ‘X must be true’ it is only a small fraction of that population that have a capacity to change their mind under any circumstances. In our experience, the primary way to eliminate pad squeal is to maintain a pad transfer layer on your discs. As the pad transfer layer wears off, the pads tend to make more noise. When you lay down a fresh transfer layer, the squeal tends to go away. We made some videos years ago that are related to this topic:
