They are also a factory option and I like the look.

Have had friends who have done it including myself with after market ones. Need to get them wrapped with PPF after or will get trashed.

Yea saw the factory option. Just recently traded in my GTSilver GTS for another White GTS haha. Love white. Wanted to paint the side skirts. Love that super clean look. Was gonna just paint the oem ones. I looked under neath and doesnt look that hard to take off. Did watch a video tho and see that you can break clips. So im assuming prob easier to just buy new ones and get them painted. Just wondering if anyone else has done this? Thanks.

The primered ones:

Same thing. Would buy these. They need to be lightly sanded and prepped either way. A little more prep work here for painter. Same thing but no primer and maybe a little more textured. Worth savings??

Talking w my boy who paints. Of course he tells me to go w the $$$ ones bc of the texture on the other ones. Says paint wont stick well. Better off going w the 600$ other ones. But I feel I can find someone who take the task on of sanding the textured ones. Cant be that difficult rt? Lol

No big mystery to painting a side rocker panel. Ive done it to both my 4S and all the rest of the black spoilers and panels and mirror mounts.
I would suggest going to a qualified paint shop that does good quality cars and show them what you want.
Pointless to explain body paint procedures but anybody who does paint work knows what and how to do it. You just prep the plastic and prime it with proper materials and paint it like every other body panel.
And No you dont sand the texture off.

Funny how part of the stated desirability of the GTS models is having contrasting black trim pieces, and yet some feel the small side skirts have to be painted the same as the body color.

IMHO the contrasting black side skirt looks good and makes sense given the grime mine picks up as a DD.
