New 991.1S owner, need help on mysterious button
Hi everyone, just picked up a 2013 991.1S CPO car with Aerokit 2 weeks ago and loving every minute of it so far.
However, I noticed a few days after taking delivery there is this button on the dash that I cannot figure what it does? I looked through the manual and it's not described in any pictures/diagrams. I tried looking at interior dash pictures online of other 991.1 cars and none have this button. When I press it, the LED is green and a voice says "Welcome"...then it doesn't appear to do anything after that? I'm truly stumped...I've attached a picture of said button below circled in red.
Anyone know what this button does when activated?

It's not a factory part. Something the PO added???

I see, I thought this was a button used for some factory option.
If it's not factory, I guess it would be some aftermarket thing the previous owner added. I'm taking it in on Wed to the dealer to get the steering wheel changed back to stock so I will ask my sales rep if he knows what the previous guy did here.

Check your front grill area and look for little rectangular diodes/sensors. I think the interior button is the on/off switch for aftermarket laser jamming system, probably Laser Interceptors.
If it's not that, probably the seat ejection button :

I believe that is a temperature sensor installed in early 991.1s. It was moved later.

That's a very polite button.

Found it, based upon the good call from Porsche_Nuts:
* After turning Laser Interceptor laser jammer on You will hear an “Welcome” sound, which means that all Laser Interceptor laser jammer heads are plugged in and device is operating regularly.
See http://www.laserinterceptor.info/instructions.html
