Default Throttle blipping availability on 7MT base and S 2014/2015

Hello,

Looking into my options with either an S or base 7MT 2014 or 2015.
I tried researching this but couldn't find an official Porsche statement or enough owners' feedback to establish facts in regards to the availability of throttle blipping on these cars.

Please note that my question below only applies to the manual transmission 991

Does a 2014 base model have this feature, or does it only come with the S? Do you need the Sport Chrono package for this feature?

Thanks for your input!

The 2014 Base and S have rev matching but you need to have SC optioned and be in sport+ mode. In 2017 and later, rev matching is also active in Sport mode but you still must have optioned SC.

There are aftermarket solutions available for cars that don’t have this option from the factory.

That's something I might be interested in, but it looks like it has a giant cable coming down the dash. Where does it plug into? If I were to take the car to the track that would be a good option, but I don't like the look for daily driving.

Are there any that work invisibly in the background with the push of a button?

While I would normally prefer OEM over aftermarket with these types of mods, this product is very interesting. Price isn't bad either...

I’ve had Auto-Blip in two cars and it works well. Probably not as good as the factory option but very effective.

I have no experience with it, I just saw it online.

You would simplify you search if you went for a GTS 991.1. In addition to SC, sports exhaust and PASM are standard, and makes for a package that is worth the extra cost. If you can find one in MT within your budget.

The throttle is all electronic and the sensor is on the forward side of the firewall almost exactly in front of the steering wheel (there's normally a small plastic cover over it which is why you don't see it when lifting the hood and removing the large plastic cover). This is where the big wire will plug in, it's also where you can adjust the throttle versus pedal position - highly recommend NOT adjusting this component, just noting that it is there.
