I can sympathize with the OP. It drives me crazy, because I can neither see nor hear the blinkers. When I get done adjusting the seat & steering wheel, it inevitably leads to the steering wheel blocking the turn signal lights. Add the fact I can't hear them, then I sometimes find my self driving for who knows how many miles with a directional flashing, and I hate being "that guy". I eventually get to a stop sign/light, and I can just barely hear them when things quiet down, and then comes the embarrassment.

At least my other vehicle yells at me and tells me to stop being a jerk, if the directional stays on too long.

I am ashamed to admit, I have more than once caught myself driving for quite a while with the blinker on, unbeknownst to me.... Looks like I am not the only one however. To think I was about to see an ear doctor......

You can always be the "other" guy, and give up using turn signals.

That only works if you're driving a BMW.

The part you're talking about is called a relay. The switch controls only a small current that operates the relay. The clicking you hear is caused by the relay contacts opening and closing. This was the old school solution to allow running on a small amount of current through a switch. Now since CANBUS and probably even more so with LED's this is less probably handled a lot differently now. This probably signifies some heinously emasculating loss of driver control, or at least a less analog driving experience. Seriously. Chris Harris is all over it.

Actually, never heard that complaint before. Most people are happy not hearing the turn signal indicator sound.
I have heard it many times....and it has been brought up before.

I switched to Sylvania 1156A bulbs. I'll try other brands but I'm certain the bulbs are not the problem.
You're kidding, right? Seriously.

"Bulbs" don't - and never have - made "turn signal sounds".

When you can't hear your blinkers, it's tire replacement time.

i can hear when my blinkers are on, although not old school clicking but they Do click.. So, id suggest an audiologist. Now for the other complaint, your steering wheel is adjustable Try moving it up and down for best view of gauges. really not being sarcastic just “Really”.

It's available through the multifunction display. Follow this path: Vehicle > Settings > Volume > Warning signals. Choose: Loud, Medium or Low.
