The iPE exhausts that are cat-bypass are just resonators. The iPE exhausts that have cats are 100-200 cell count.

This is a good explanation that I found that keeps it simple:

A Catalytic Converter (CAT) is made of many little cells where are deposited high value metals which will take care of oxidizing the gazes that were not fully oxidized in the engine. A 400 CELL Cat means there are 400 of these cells per square inch. As this number goes down, the amount of physical cells decreases therefore generating fewer constraints for the exhaust flows. The good compromise is often to use 200 CELL cats (typically 400 cell is what is used by car manufacturers). If you go too low in CELL value, the oxidation process is not well performed. and a check engine light may appear since there is likely not enough back pressure.

thank you, so the lower the cell count the better the car can breath and the louder it would get.

Correct. You also will start to notice a distinct smell in the exhaust as more untreated gases pass through the cat.

If I'm not mistaken I think the OEM's are 600 cell count.

great, so in the bike world we have dummy o2 sensor plugs that we use to avoid the CEL from coming in when we take out the cars. No such thing in the Porsche world? Other than the ECU flush and the spacers?

Same thing, o2 Spacer or mini cats. You wont need them unless your running bypass pipes I dont believe. I ran them with bypass pipes and I had no CEL

Ok, thanks for the information!

I loved the Kline headers on my 2016 981 Spyder. Loved the new sound...

These are still my favorite clips, Fabspeed Sport Headers and Catbypass Pipes.

Since 991.2's come with turbos, will sports cat + exhaust help lessen turbo lag especially in low revs?

I was just thinking of my old 997 Turbo and the Europipe mod not only improved sound but also seemed to have made low rev power more responsive.
