I saw a 911T at the auto show. Looked nice in yellow. Certainly doesn't sound any louder than a standard PSE .2 in these videos, so I'm assuming the extra "loudness" Porsche advertises comes from simply removing sound insulation inside.

Wing and a DCT for me, don't need no stinkin' stick! Blame traffic and Yankee roads which are like navigating minefields.

I love the sound of the GT3 driven with a manual. I've watched the Chris Harris video a bunch of times. I'm tempted to call my dealer and see if they wouldn't mind cancelling my 991.2 GTS (due in 3 weeks) and giving me a GT3-T allocation instead. i'd even be willing to give up my GTS discount and pay full MRSP on the GT3 LOL

Further north, with no traffic, navigating the minefields is kinda fun.

MSRP on a GT3 is $143,600
MSRP on a GTS coupe is $120,700
Factor in a discount on the GTS and maybe ADM on the GT3 and the gap widens. The only performance options available on the GTS standard or free on the GT3 are PDK ($3730) and RAS ($2090). I always forget how expensive PDK is as an option on the 911.

Been doing the speccing game myself. 143k GTS (pdk, GTS interior, 18 way seats, RWS, glass sunroof, pretty specced out car). 157k GT3 (pretty much same specs, minus glass sunroof, add front axle lift)
So about a 14k difference. But on GTS you can expect about a 6k discount, so that widens the gap to 20k.
Worst part about the GT3 would be getting the allocation.

Who wants to tour with more than one guest? If you really really must have rear seats I am sure you can pay a metal guy to weld in the mounts and get some take outs out of a wreck. Some rear seat mounts is a walk in the park compared to what people do to save 356 or long nose 911.

It kinda chuckle at people needing backseats in a 911. Who can fit back there? And if they can, who’d want someone’s stinkin’ paws all up back there?
To me, unless you need the luxury and civility, getting a GTS is nuts over a GT3, considering the price closeness. Forgetting GTS discounts and whether you can find a GT3 at MSRP and all, the GT3 will hold significantly better value. It literally will be a cheaper car by the time you sell it (if you sell it). No brainer to me. If the GT3 is too harsh for you, then it’s a different story.

It was Ferry Porsche who insisted the 911 have back seats. Being able to take the kids to school is often the difference between getting the car and not and Ferry knew it.

I guess I should be able to understand that after all. I practically grew up in the backseat of a 930 Slant Nose and had a stint in my teenage years crammed in the back seat of an X50 996 Turbo. So, maybe I’m looking at this too much like a selfish grownup who doesn’t want anyone sitting in MY 911.
