I was behind a 4C yesterday, that car hauls *** and handles like it is on a rail. Really impressive.

The general shape of the Saleen reminds me of the old Spyker c8.

No doubt, but it's a crude piece that would be very difficult to drive for any length of time. I suspect this new Saleen is similarly single-dimensional.

The 4C has but one insurmountable flaw in my eyes.... no manual. The Auto in it is an average box... The car is great and anyone interested in Alfa's calls the flaws either character or features if you're into software For a weekend toy, it is more exciting than an 911. It is nowhere near the 911 in terms of being a perfect everything car.

Agree on all points raised... I wouldn’t last more than 90 minutes in that car before needing to take a nap. My Cobra is a similar experience, exhilarating to drive for the first hour, then exhausting. I was reminded of how much the 4C is like an Exige when I saw them parked next to each other at Alice’s. I did 50 miles on the track at Thunderhill in my Cobra and then had to drive home, which was enough to convince me to buy a GTS.

RE manual, on that car I would agree. On a 911, I would be hard pressed to want a manual at this point in my life, and an somewhat resentful that the GT3 Touring Package comes exclusively with a manual.

I would not buy a production car from Saleen, Hennessey or any of the tuning shops for the simple reason that servicing and support is going to be a challenge. These cars are fragile at this stage in their lifecycle. Porsche is not, so from a market competition standpoint, I doubt it is much of a competitor.
