GTS Turbo CL Wheels Haze / Film Help?
Hi All,
When washing my GTS wheels I have been noticing that there is a faint haze / film that seems to be over the wheels. They are not perfectly black. Seems almost like a slight soap film. Any thoughts on how to try and get rid of that? I've tried sonix wheel cleaner. I seems like I can buff it out after they are dry but after I wash them again, it seems to come back.
Anybody else seen this?

I may not have good news for you. Those wheels have a satin “matte” finish. The finish is a result not of the paint but of the clear coat. The clear coat has microscopic ridges that refract and reflect light creating the satin/matte look. If you rub (buff) the clear coat, you can create a shiny high spot. That may be causing the issue.
Alternatively it could be that the brake pad dust has adhered to the tiny crevasses in the clear coat. I would get a matte paint cleanser - like Dr Beardsley and see if that helps. There are special wheels cleaners for matte wheels because of the problems you’re describing.
Good luck!
