Default Appropriate used mileage on a CPO?

I understand the less miles the better. What is your criteria when it comes to CPO miles?

- No more than 10k/12k/15k a year?

thoughts and insight appreciated

CPO is only good for 6 years/100K miles..... total.

So how long do you want to keep the car? Do the calculation.

I picked up my 1 year old CPO'ed 991.1 w/2700 miles so I had 5 years/97300 miles or warranty left.

I keep cars I like..... and I like this 911 so it's currently going on 4.8 years old w/76K miles...... I'm still good. Drive on.

mine was 2 years old with 22000 miles. I knew I would never mileage out on the warranty and the lower price was nice.

I just bought a 2018 GTS C2 with 50k miles. It was sold as a CPO a year ago with 40k. I suppose a lot of folks would run away from that mileage but a solid ppi, its history and general condition gave me the warm fuzzies.

I bought my 2015 C4S three years ago with 42,000 miles. It was properly maintained, had a CPO and I had a PPI done. It has 60,000 miles on it now and has been great. Like anything else, a lot depends on how well it was taken care of previous to your ownership; mileage isn't the only defining factor.

CPO is CPO, I wouldn't care about the mileage.

I agree with this statement,

That being said, solid maintenance record is key.

Every vehicle I have sold has a folder of every receipt detailing what has been done, including upgraded parts etc.

Last car I sold was my 04 Subaru STi which came with a binder of receipts/maintenance records including the specs the builder built the engine to (gaps, weights for balancing etc).

This goes for buying a vehicle outside of CPO. A PPI and record of maintenance are ideal. You are effectively buying the seller as much as you are buying the car.

Good luck!

Bought my '17 4GTS last January, CPO. Had 52k miles on it, currently has 57k. Love it love it. The big-time seller was full maintenance, one owner, and kept super.

Now, I will say, just because it's CPO, doesn't mean it's a flawless car. The tires don't have to be new, the brakes don't have to be new, the bumpers are allowed to be repainted, etc... It's your job to inspect or get the car inspected prior to purchase.
