991.2 Carrera 3.0TT KLINE INNOVATION Inconel exhaust video release!
#46
Im disappointed in the product releases Ive been seeing for the 991.2 so far. There's seemingly absent marking department in these companies who put together a cohesive and thorough product release.
Who wants to buy a product at the price point that these systems are without seeing measurable gains verified on a dyno? How about some comments on how they were developed, what their benefits are vs. the stock systems, etc. Theres so little information on this system and all requests for data seemingly go unanswered. Their release video, while beautifully filmed, gives zero information on what the exhaust really sounds like in day to day driving. Thrashing a car around a track doesn't really give you a good sense how loud it is, what it sounds like under moderate acceleration, etc. Its not even detailed what setup is being run.... get it together guys. Its even more disappointing that Kline is likely one of the most well engineered and prestigious systems available.

The way I see it.. These aftermarket companies think Porsche owners are stinking filthy rich with money to blow while having no regard for technical information. Porsche owner just wants the part for sound, bling, and bragging rights... Especially the 991.
I see all these aftermarket exhausts for sale for several thousand dollars and I see 0 innovative R&D. They find a donor car, take some measurements and build. It's so easy for these guys, and very minimal R&D is done. The price of product is 90% Porsche tax, 5% material, and 5% marketing.
They don't even take the time or have the decency to provide dyno charts and technical data like you said. We're just dumb rich Porsche owners. This is not just a knock on Kline but all of these companies.

Anyways, is there anyone who has this system that can chime in? I’m also curious to know if Kline headers and cats would bolt up to the stock muffler.
Thank you

I 100% agree with this comment. I went to the Kline website and found very little information. The one HP claim lists the stock Carrera S at 414. Porsche lists it at 420?

Thank you
- From all the videos I could find online, if i were to get these it would have to be the inconel in order to make a big enough difference. But those are in the 9k range
- To the previous point, it seems like OEM PSE already has a very optimized design. The inconel material seems to make the car sound a bit more raspy
- With the kline exhaust, you also need their cats. From my understanding, cats are something that might fail over time, and would need to be swapped out for any smog test (especially in CA). This just makes everything less convenient
- From all the material I've read so far, headers + cats make the biggest difference on a .2 car. So spending 9k on rather minimal gain simply didn't make sense for me.

Kline would have been my second choice. I think they sound good, from the little I have seen. What I didn't like was that they completely changed the setup from cat to exhaust. Which means you are stuck only buying both their cat and their exhaust and you need to do it at the same time. That was a big negative. I like to enjoy the mods one at a time, to see what difference each one makes. I don't like to be locked into the complete system up front.
I can have Akra cats with the my PSE or with an Akra. Or I can keep the stock cats and do the Akra cans first. I like that. There was also next to no info or pics on their headers and no power claims. So I went with Vektor.
