Default Door glass out of alignment???

Just got a call from PPF installer saying my passenger side door glass is out of alignment and rubbing the stationary glass in the rear. WTH?? Now I do recall that the door sort of pulled a little when opening it but I thought it was just sticking on the rubber seal. I will take it in to Porsche but I find this a bit strange, could not find any issues with this using search.

Make sure the lock strike plate is tight and has the plastic shim underneath.

I had mine mess up once......

It fixed itself after I lowered all the way and rolled it back up with the door closed.

I hope your situation is also a simple fix.

I have seen this on a new GTS - take it to dealer - its a simple warranty job. Don't let them tell you it your fault for closing the door by pushing on the glass window.

Mine came new that way. Tech said it'll take him an hour to readjust. Common issue NBD.

Thanks, mine did also, I just never really noticed as I don't have people ride in my car, lol!

I don't think it's hitting the glass I think the glass is getting pushed up a bit too much and the top is getting caught in the door gasket. Either way I have an appointment on Tues.

So just measured the gap between the edge of the door glass and the edge of the stationary glass

Driver side = 1/4”
Passenger side = 3/16”, actually maybe just a tiny bit less than that.

What’s happening is the top corner of the door glass is just slightly rubbing the edge of the stationary piece when opening or closing. Must roll glass down before opening or closing to prevent it.

I am hoping there is some adjustment on the glass to move open the gap, ie push the door glass forward so it won’t hit. The edge of the stationary glass has section that is scuffed a little. Sort of suck, really Porsche?

When I was fixing a rattle coming from the stationary glass, I seem to remember that it could be adjusted slightly before tightening the bolt down that held it in place. I'm not saying that is your situation, but there should be a way to open that gap. If I remember correctly, the bolt you need to access is behind the B-pillar cover near the seat belt tensioner.

Thx, but it a 2 month old new car, going back to the dealer on Tues to fix it. Sort of shocked about this on a $100k+ car. The stationary glass edge has a small rub mark on it from this, but I am assuming that’s just what I will have to live with.

Took the car to the dealer today, known issue. I was driving home 30 minutes later. Door panel did not need to come off. While in the show room saw a new C4S with the same issue on the passenger side door. I told the SA they might want to fix that one too before they sell it.

The only suck was of course started drizzling for 2 minutes and wrecked the nice detail job on the car, so pissed, wasn't even in the forecast.

So, if the door panel didn't need to come off, what was the fix?

There are some adjustment points in the door, the outer door seal comes off (the black strip at the top of the door next to the window) and they can reach the adjustment points from there with a tool.
