Going to swap out my center caps on the CL wheels. Do Porsche GTS cars come standard with a center cap removal tool? If so, is it located in the frunk? (My car is stored off site and trying to figure things out before I get my hands on it.)

I believe it does..but you will still need a torque wrench if you want to remove the wheel. It is called the 'auxilliary tool,' to be used along with the polygon tool to adapt a torque wrench to the bolt. Look in the Good to Know app under "Changing a Wheel" or your instruction manual.

Thanks Sharm. Got the torque wrench but just popping caps this time around. Can’t find anything in Porsche’s app on the subject.

Worst case, I’ll look for the tool once I’m on site.

Look in the frunk where the CL tool is kept to remove the wheels.

The cap remover is inside this tool.

That tool that is standard with the car to remove the center cap on CL wheels is a disaster. Do not use it if you want to keep your caps pristine. The tool is hard to use, is unwieldy, and will mar up your caps really good. If you don't mind scratched and gouged caps, use it. BTW, replacement caps are about $50 each, if you can believe that!

You are better off using a jewelers screwdriver or anything thin and long to pry the cap out. Use some tape on the tool so you don't scratch anything. Save yourself a headache and throw that OEM cap removal tool away.

Yup used a small flat screwdriver and not the tool. BTW $50 seems like a bargain for anything on a Porsche.

I have been using vaseline around the rubber o-ring on the center caps, as I remove my CL wheels quite often. I also cut the little guiding slab behind each cap, so I can place the caps on the wheels with no need to align the Porsche crest with the little hole to insert the tool.

Before this trick, I ruined two perfect colored caps, the tool pulled the metal cover from the cap while leaving the plastic part attached to the wheel. $100 mistake due to a not properly designed tool.

The same thing happen to me. Ruined a perfectly good cap. Still pissed about it.
