Well I am very happy to report that the Foxwell tool tests each COV for you. I bought the NT530 and it just arrived today. Under the Active Test section you can select each valve for testing and it returns either 100% or 0% for functioning or not. Haven't had a chance to test the 991 yet but tested another car and it worked flawlessly. You can hear the valve clicking open and shut. Hope this makes it easier for others to also test without having to go down a rabbit hole of replacement / exploration.

yup. That’s the one. Does all the other service reset stuff along with reading overrevs (but haven’t tried that myself). It was the valve testing and overrev report that swayed me to buy as there are a few options in this price range that don’t do those things.

Under my car starting the 3 year maintenance (991.2 carerra t) and I notice this . My water pump has been replaced already and I have not noticed this before. Any idea where it goes? Thinking it’s a vent hose of some type for the water pump? No errors or overheating.
Hose split at connection point
Where it is on water pump

Well interestingly enough, all 7 of my COVs test fine. So now thinking it may be a disconnected exhaust vacuum line (hope so, would be easy). Will be getting the back bumper off shortly to check and to clean the air filters.

I had a PSE valve fail, and it manifested as a system cooling error. I thought it was the COVs. I had already replaced three, so I did the other ones as well with the updated -F part and the failure persisted. Turns out a failure on the other side of the COV can have the same effect.

I have the Foxwell NT 510 Elite which I bought on Black Friday at $40 discount. It supposedly has same software as the larger NT 530. This thread encouraged me to play with it and it also has the ability to active test all of the change over valves. Although I have not used any of the functions yet,i it also has oil and maintenance reset, battery registration, ABS brake bleed, EPB release for rear rotor change. While I was playing with it today, the special functions under the transmission system indicates it has a calibration process and a oil fill function. See attached photos. If this OBD 2 scanner can read and clear codes and can recalibrate PDK and allow PDK clutch oil change, then it is worth $135.

Folks, I just joined the club. 2013 C2S Cab with PSE. No warranty. I'm looking to Foxwell ODB2 scanners, there are several dosens of NT530 and NT510 Elite ones. Which one would work to test each valve individually and also to clear the codes? Also there are models for each brand (BMW, MB, etc) does it make a difference? Thanks.

Cooling system fault message with no heat.
Cooling System fault error code in yellow came up. About a week prior the heat did not work.
Porsche dealership charged $340 to replace the $68 change over valve. Very pleased with the fix and the reasonable price.
Spoiler wing and brake light was removed. Under shield removed to check for vacuum leak. Change Over value replaced and back on the road.
