Default Tiny windshield chip - Safelite repair OK?

My windshield picked up a tiny chip from a pebble today. Anything special about Porsche 911 windshields that should preclude using Safelite to repair it? Feedback greatly appreciated.

No difference in any windshield except the 2017 Ford GT uses Gorilla glass.

As small as you make it sound, can it be repaired? Might be too small.

It depends where the chip is and its size. If it is in the driver field of view, it must be replaced for safety reason (not necessarily because the windshield can crack, but also because it distracts the driver).
Also, the windshield used on 911 is not as standard as you may think : it has an oleophobic treatment to help water to be evacuated, similar to what you find on phones. A repair might affect this.
Regarding insurance, can’t yours take it in charge ? In my country, replacing a windshield is totally free of charge. This is something you might consider when contracting with yours.

If it is a tiny pebble and a tiny chip, you might leave it alone. Wait until you get more (and you will) and then repair. Also, if chip is too small, it may be too small to repair as there may not be enough area for epoxy filler to grab onto.

I agree with the others that if it is really tiny, not directly in your field view, and there is no "star" from cracking it might be best left alone. If you do have some crack there then it would be best to get it filled. Safelite should be able to do an excellent job with it. They fixed one on my pickup truck recently and it virtually disappeared unless you really look for it... and it was right about a quarter (the coin) in size to start with. The repair was "free" with my insurance.

Replaced the 50th windshield at Safelite a few years back. No issues. $ 500 installed. T

I'd definitely check with Safelite. If it's too small to fix, they'll tell you - at least that's what happened with me. I like checking only because I don't want a small chip to grow.

Fixed a small chip in my windshield with a Permatex repair kit and very happy with the results.
