"Fault parking brake" error message
I got in my car yesterday and was greeting by a message on the multifunction display saying "Fault parking brake" in yellow along with a "P" error in the center tach. I checked the manual and didn't see anything about it. I was able to release and set the brake, but it kept the message.
I drove home, turned the car off, and when I turned it back on the message went away. I'm planning on scheduling an appointment with the dealer to take a look. Any idea what it could be?

I had several weeks of problems with my ebrake. I think it was ultimately a control module that had to be replaced. I posted several threads about a year ago. Car seems to be ok since.

Anyone have an update on this? This morning my car reported "Parking brake fault; Auto start-stop disabled." Turned the car off and restarted...no issue. Have used the parking brake several times and driven several miles without issue. Anyone had this happen?
Thanks for your help,

I have had this same message in my 981. I would chalk it up to a hiccup. I turned off the engine and the problem went away like the other posters.
It's an electronic gremlin. I would not worry about it.

I have had manual transmission cars forever and always just used the parking brake Live in level areas, no hills. Since I got the 991 and got the Parking Brake fault once, I now back up the e-brake by putting the car in gear after shutdown. Not completely confident in the electric e-brake.

Hi Guys! New to the Forum. I just recently bought a 10' Panamera "S" It currently always throws the "Electric Parking Brake" fault code. Has anyone figured out exactly what this problem is.?
Also, If I let it sit for longer than a day it always sits lower in the front and says "vehicle extremely Low" and sometime I get the "Chassis Failure" code. Usually I let the car warm up for about ten minutes and turn it off and on repeatedly to get it to raise up. Compressor
does seem to be turning on.
Any help on both situations will be greatly appreciated?
Thank in advance.

I *HATE* those e-brakes ... what was wrong with the old-fashioned mechanical brake???
When I collected my GT3 from Stuttgart back in August - I dropped it off at Frankfurt airport for a couple of weeks ... I was sitting on the United flight listening to the endless announcements about duty free and beverage service
when a little voice in my head spoke up "... did you remember to place the e-brake on when you parked your car"... I find it really easy to forget the brake, which is an issue in a manual transmission car...
why why why ... why did they take my mechanical e-brake away???
