Default 992 model rollout

Just curious how Porsche typically rolls out the various 911 variants when it introduces a new generation 911. I’ve heard/read in various places that the 992 is anticipated to go into production around Q3 2018 and would be a 2019 model year. But I’m assuming that would likely just be for the base Carrera and possibly Carrera S models. What about other variants, particularly the 4S? In the past, have the 4 and 4S models come later, and if so, how much later? And more specifically to the point, would the 992 4S likely be no earlier than the 2020 model year?

I realize these questions are impossible to answer definitively by anyone other than Porsche themselves, but curious what the board believes is the likely rollout schedule?

I’m close to placing an order for 2018 4S but would like to have a rough idea as to how long before the 992 4S starts hitting the streets.

Can't answer your questions but from the pictures I have seen of the 992 I'm pretty sure I'll be hanging on to my 991.2 GTS for a good while, whenever it shows up for delivery. I'm not too keen of the lines of the 992, but then everyone is different.

I believe my dates are correct. 991.1 base & S launched in 2012, I have a 4S launch vehicle 2013. So 1 model year later seems about right.

Was 2012.5 for base and S. 2013 for 4S.

For 991.2 they rolled them out much quicker than .1

For 992, I would expect a 4S 8-12 months after the launch.

Cliff notes... the sooner you buy "any" 911 the sooner you get to enjoy driving a 911.
