PS- thanks for posting. I kept watching this over and over. I think it was putting me in a trance.

Amazing. You put that driver in a base 911 and me in a GT2 RS, and he will kick my *** all day long by minutes lol. Truly great engineering from Porsche and with every new model, the performance just keeps trickling down the model line. Motortrend tested the C2S with "super car like" numbers and I just don't know what I would do with a GT3, Turbo S, GT3RS or GT2RS other than bragging rights.

Stucky says the .2 base with a simple tune will beat it.

And I still enjoyed pulling 12-13min laps in a slow as hell rental E92 M3. Go figure.

This is a great accomplishment for Porsche, well done!

Off to driving my rusty, old and slow .1GTS.

You guys are hilarious. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. If @sticky would have posted this video the comments would look something like this;

"I could buy one if I wanted, but the sound is bad. Sure it's fast, but I just can't get an emotional attachment to the car with that Turbo exhaust note. Plus I can't even use the power I have on the street! Besides my SA told me I'd better hang on to my .1 because it's going to be a rare collector car in a few years."

In fact - the more I think about, why don't we just take the comment I posted and call it #1. That way when the .1 owners who always come into the .2 threads can just type #1 and we will all know what they mean. That should save everyone a lot of time.

I guess we need to change the thread title: Time got lower and it is official now:

"GT2 RS is the fastest Porsche 911 model of all time with 6:47.3 lap time"

Andreas Preuninger, Director of the GT model line, stated, "It's not just the record time achieved by the GT2 RS that demonstrates the vehicle's caliber, but also the consistency of performance in every lap. We're particularly proud of the fact that this was achieved with two different vehicles and two different drivers, as it underscores the ability of the GT2 RS to reproduce the record over and over again.

They are shooting for that time since it is the actual record by NIO EP9. Lap time: 6:45.90. Titles held by this car: Fastest lap by a road-legal car, fastest road-legal four-wheel-drive lap, fastest lap by an electric car
