2013 911 PDK Center Console P, R, N, D Illumination
Hi
I just purchased a used 2013 911 Carrera. Drove it home at night and noticed everything on the center console is lit up except the P,R,N, D indicators and the + M - indicators. Seems like they would be illuminated like the rest. Do they light up? I realize you have it in the dials, but just seems odd
Thanks !

There is indirect lighting of that area of the console from an LED embedded in the overhead garage door control panel. It has variable brightness and could possibly be turned off. To turn this on, use the MFD (multifunction display) to select through these menus:
Vehicle -> Settings -> Light & Visibility ->Interior Lights->Orientation Light (or something like that). You can then adjust its brightness or turn it off from there.
There is a similar menu on the PCM, but for some reason it omits the Orientation Light setting.
The current tranny selection is shown using a diagram and lights near the bottom of the tach just under the current gear number so I guess they didn't think it needed to be illuminated on the console.
