I had the exact same issue and here’s what I did. There are 2 torx screws (on the side that you circled...adjacent to the center blocked off intake) that hold that centered plastic piece. This plastic piece prevents a flush mount. I’ve removed the 2 torx screws (the plastic trim will not fall off) which allows you to push this piece resulting in a flush mount.

Looks nice!

Can you narrow down the location of the screws more? I cannot seem to find them and it would be nice if the outers set more closely.

I’m out of town at the moment and can’t quite recall the exact location of the torx screes. I slid in my phone behind it and took a picture. If you have soft hand, you can search for them with your soft fingers.

No problem-o, maybe when you get back unless I can find them this weekend.

bkrantz,

I'm interested in having a set of your grills. Have you pursued your design. I have a 2017 C2S and prefer not having to remove the front bumper cover.

I put Rennline on mine. Very easy! I had my Indie do it! Along with magnets for the front license plate holder! I am very happy with the functionality and the appearance. And, they do not hamper the louver's actions.

Do you mind tell us how much you paid for the installation?

No problem: $250.00, but that included installing the magnets for the front tag holder as well. Hope this is helpful.

I've subsequently installed a set of Zunsport grilles and have had zero issues with them. Installation was easy, but nerve wracking out of fear of scratching the paint despite liberal use of masking tape to protect the paintwork. Key to the installation was judicious bending [flexing of the grilles] to set them in proper place. I had no issues with the singe screw that retains each grille. 2 years later all is still well. The black powder coating over the SS screens and perimeter metal rim has held up very well and shows less indication of stone damage than my front bumper cover and hood which are covered in PPF. I don't know what brand, it was on the car when I purchased it from the dealership who had originally ordered and sold and serviced it.
