Default Cheapest Michelin Pilot Sport 4S

Hi all,

Although I have plenty thread left on my original sh**y PZeros (probably the worst tire ever in this category), I decided to replace them with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. I was just about to place an order on tirerack.com I decided to do little bit search. And I found much better deal at www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com. Tire rack was $1268 including shipping (to tax), and www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com is $1058 including shipping (no tax). Sizes were 245/35/20 and 295/30/20.

I though I should let everyone know about it

Keep in mind, the Tire Rack probably included Road Hazard Warranty in their price, further closing the gap. FYI.

Also, the TR currently has a $70 Michelin rebate, not sure if your other source does too.

Probably you are right. I forgot about it. I purchased tires from tire rack many times but never used the warranty although I damaged tires

They just recently (this year??) started including this in all purchase transactions.

Thanks for the information I've seen here. My Pirelli's are just about finished. I will be getting the Michelin P4S tires in the spring. Has anyone read about any availability issues with the P4S tires recently (monthly or seasonality issues)?

I ask because I am considering buying the P4S tires now and just keeping them in my garage until the spring for mounting. I'd hate to get to the spring needing tires and encountering availability issues.

Thanks in advance.

I think it would be smart and prudent to order the tires in February or March.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm curious to know if it includes road hazard like Lex mentioned. I literally just bought mine from tirerack 2 weeks ago, and they came with the road hazard

I looked real fast a couple hours ago. Road hazard warranty was included for sure. But maybe only the more $$ rears. Not sure.

There is a $200 price delta with Tire Rack compared to Discount Wheel which surprised me when I just checked as I always use TR. $100 of it is the Hazard insurance automatically included.

I am assuming you have an S narrow body. I did notice they don't have the 4S for a wide body car like mine. Would be interesting to see if TR would price match for you.

Not after you factor in rim damage.

I went to costco, and they said the 4s was on a 6 week back order, so I went to Tirerack.

That's right. Never use Costco for installation as they don't have proper equipment to install low profile tires AND high speed balance.
