I bought my rims and toms sensors at Tire Rack and my tires at Kal Tire. The rims I bought have the right offset that even a 285 tire fits nicely in the rear wheel well.
Interesting info--thanks.

I had studded Nokians on my 1989 C4 in Alaska. Unstoppable! (except when I wanted to)

They work fine. No damage issues at all for me.

The N rated tires are 245/295 for all 20” models
The Michelin Alpins are phenomenal.

Install at Costco and they’ll charge 60 (all 4) at the end of the winter to replace with summer tires and 60 again when winter arrives. I have been doing this for 3 years, spent far less than getting another wheel set. That with flat warranty, balanced mounted, N2 free for the life of the tires.
And cheaper that tire rack. I ordered a set of Cup2 this week, 250 less than tire rack, with penny install (special this month-130 worth)

thanks for the feedback. But I think the rear wheels on your car are 11.5s. 295s are 11.9 so yes -should be fine. He 17/18 GTS and 18 TT with centerlocks. have 12s in the rear.

Costco is great. Agreed. I have used them for a few of my cars. I don't think they are equipped for centerlock wheels, have spent enough time around pccb or do hunter road force though. But for just buying tires - yes - agree.

Just want to add some notes on the Alpins, I agree they are a great tire for the winter. They aren't quite a Blizzak or Nokian, but for what they are capable of, they are incredible in the dry.

Driving a sports car in the winter has the major disadvantage of not being able to really enjoy it when there isn't snow, but these Alpins change that.

And the turbos are really happy in the winter, nice cold air...
The Alpins and sottozeros are the N rated. The best snow tire is probably he Nokian Hakkapeliitta. In my area is overkill, but is see it been needed in the mountains.

im sure the turbo guys will kill me for saying this, but I don't consider a car with awd to be a sports car.

I guess we all think we can have our own private definitions of words. Just because. There's a moderator on Planet 9 who thinks that only convertibles are sports cars, because the original sports cars of the 1920's were convertibles.

Me, I think it's about how it drives, rather than a rigid definition of what equipment it has or doesn't have.

Yes, and I probably shouldn't be so black and white. Just have spent a lot of time instructing on skid pads with other people's cars, and I've never been able to get an awd car to slide like a rwd car. That said, I also haven't spent a lot of time racing, doing tt, or even de on track with an awd car. I have owned several though.

Funny on convertible side, I feel if a car wasn't designed originally as a convertible only, it's not a sports car either 😬

Porsche Accouting: we need to make more money per car on GTS models

Porsche Marketing: only if we could find a way to make people have to buy porsche OEM winter package. Winter wheel and tires are a great option but Most just buy N rated tires and put on same wheels. We can't make them buy new wheels

Porsche Engineering: hold my beer, I got this! CHANGE REAR WHEEL TO 12" and don't rate any 305 tires as N rated. Problem solved!
