New Tires, going 255 up front?
#16
If the diameter of the front tire is slightly smaller than the rear due to the narrower width, then don't you need to maintain the diameter difference between front and rear, so that the ABS and traction control intervene at the correct time and in the correct amount?
With other cars I've owned, you would notice if you didn't maintain this difference. I'm all for reducing understeer, but perhaps messing with the factory stagger is not the smartest way to go.
Thoughts?

For sure....that is understood. Generally, if you change front size you also change the rear, in order to maintain the diameter difference.
This is why I mentioned suspension tuning as a better way to accomplish the goal of reduced understeer. As a first step, you could probably make a small improvement by adjusting tire pressures.

I've been running 255's up front for autocross, can't say I see much difference. Probably trading some turn in response for some total grip. Going to try 265 on my next set
