I am old school also and prefer the silver bar. The original owner of my 2015 Targa 4s added black wheels which I do not like with the silver bar or the Sapphire Blue color. Next week I’ll be changing back to the silver wheels that came on the car originally.
PS-My niece photo shopped the color of my Targa on the delivery truck so the color is not correct.

Silver targa rollbar for me which looks good with a dark body color.
Black targa rollbar is also nice on light colors such as chalk or yellow

I like both but silver is more classic look of a Porsche Targa!!!

Depends upon the exterior color imo. Forty-five year difference between the first 1970 911 and the current 991.1 Targa 4S. The first Targa; shame on me! I have missed a lot of great open air road opportunities:-( I’ll never go back.

Targa bar should match the wheels like a belt should match the shoes. Silver in the wheels, silver targa bar. Blacked out wheels, black Targa bar.

Anyone given thought to changing the color of their targa bar? I’m looking at a gts with black bar, but always love the traditional silver look… think it could be wrapped (and thus not permanent), sprayed, or heaven forbid plasti dipped?
agree with the belt and shoes analogy above.
