If it's a daily and you're looking for a commuter then the 991.2 is great and you may find that even the 991.2 base is more than sufficient. It will be way more comfortable and the tech is way ahead of your GT4/Spyder.
That being said - do you like the howling of the NA 3.8? If you said yes then get a 991.1... I would not give up my 991.1 for any 991.2 with turbos.

I don't have a lot of experience with Porsches (like some folks here that have been driving them since the 60's), but this is my first 911 and very pleased with it. Totally driveable as a daily, and when not in sport mode it drives and feels like a regular car. The first thing that came to mind when driving this car was the steering, and how much road feel there is compared to other cars I had. I went with the 991.2S since I wanted the better brakes and the extra engine power. Lows of low end torque is what I wanted since I drive this car on the street mostly.
As for the PDK, I wish I could have gotten a manual to row my own, but none were available. And I'm not going to go through the process of ordering one with every single thing I wanted as it is good enough.
As for fit and finish, top notch. Way way better than my prior BMW. Porsche is in a different level than BMW for sure.

Who cares what we think.
I love mine tho, and I think you should get one in Racing Yellow. Go figure!

Had my 911.2 C2s for 15 months now and still love it. Got all of the performance features and glad I did for spirited driving on back roads. I also use it quite often to buy groceries. Very versatile sports car with great power.

The .2 S is a fast car. Since you have a Spyder if you want to listen to a 3.8 NA scream, I see no reason to get a 991.1 over a .2.
Or wait for the 992 - I'm sure it'll be even faster than the 991.2...

I never have test driven a car....ever...until today. I drove the S and the base. Both were great. The base was chalk and moderately optioned. I went with that instead of the yellow S. I bought from Porsche of Central Austin and they were awesome. 10/10.
I will miss the GT4, but I never did drive it much. Once I started to rent a Wolf for the track, I never wanted to go back.

To the OP - you have the ultimate combo! Well played!
It'll be good to hear from you in the next six months to see what ends up being your "go to" ride. Those Spyders are pretty hard to resist, right?
In the meantime, we want nothing less than a great review of the new whip!
