Default I need review on the 911S

I am thinking of trading in my GT4 on a new 911S. I also have a Boxster Spyder...its more fun to drive so I can live w/o the GT4.

I am looking for a street car...I will even get PDK so city driving is easier. No plans to track.

So how is the car?? Good and bad.

Thanks!

You have to know you're going to get an overwhelmingly positive response on 911's in a 911 forum, and no comprehensive review. You're much better off looking for professional reviews if you're asking such a broad question.

If you have specific questions, you'll have more luck.

There are a handful of I-hate-turbocharger posters here who might warn you away from the 991.2's, but there are at least as many who own 991.2's and love 'em.

There are dozens of reviews on this forum. I'd suggest you start by searching and reading those first, then asking any specific questions you may have left.

I bought 2017 C2s and I'm very happy. I was originally going to order a lightly optioned base but found my car at a local dealer and got a good discount.

Im really happy I went with the S, I think the extra power and other standard performance parts are worth the extra price.

Here's a review

Thanks for all the advice on how to find reviews. The professional reviewers are mostly tools. The search function could be better. There is no satisfaction survey on the car.

So I'm in this forum to find out....are people happy with the car now that they have one. Are there any post purchase regrets.

Magitalian nailed what I was looking for.

Thanks.

My 911 is not an S, it's a 2017 991.2 911 base Carrera. NO "S" ENVY HERE!

I purchased it new last year and I have no regrets, except that I did not do it sooner.

"The 911 is so choice, if you have the means I highly recommend picking one up".

I owned a 991.1 S cab for 2 years and loved it. Most of us on the forum just keep buying some version of the 911 because they are crazy addictive. Only regrets? I am now addicted to something super expensive, and I can't decide day to day which one I would rather have.
Have not owned the 991.2 yet, I have one on order. I have test driven several and decided on the GTS. I would have 3 or 4 if my garage was big enough.
I can highly recommend purchasing one but I am biased.
Everyone's tastes are different but to me the S is the perfect place to start as you will not feel "S envy" if you were to start in a base model.
(That's why I bought 911 number 2).

I have a 2018 GTS and love it. I traded in a 2016 911S. They are very different cars but I have Zero regrets and Very happy. Let me know if you want more details.

I came from a 2012 Cayman S. I bought a '13 C2S without even driving a base 991.1. I wanted the last of the NA engines and didn't want S envy. Found one that was loaded with more options than I dreamed of. I like it better than my Cayman in every respect.
After spending a lot of time here, if I was buying new I'd get a base model, everyone says they're fast enough, especially if you're not tracking.

I don't have anything bad to say about mine. In the 1 1/2 years I've had it, its been problem free. Its great around town or longer trips, has plenty of power, all the goodies I could want (heated/cooled seats, cup holders, front/rear parking sensors, A/C is super cold and small back seats that fit our two small dogs (no kids..).

Bought my 2013 991S with power kit a month ago. I love it. Love the power, love the high revs, the swift gear changes and a lot of it's other characteristics. With the sports chrono package and power kit it's a bit like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde - depending on which buttons you press!

I earlier had an manual 996 turbo. This is something completely different - in a good way!
