Any options for base owners? How's the Rennline set vs Zunsport?

I can't speak to the Zunsport stuff because they actually didn't have a production set for sale that I needed for my 2014 991.1 50th, because my car was not optioned with parking sensors

Took it as a sign and went with the Rennline set, just installed by a local shop which did require the bumper off. But the install came out great, and looks just about as OEM as the mesh on my old .2 GT3

Very happy with it

Do they have something for the 991.2 base?

God bless,
TT

not sure if you are referring to Rennline/my post but I believe so, you can google Rennline to see their site or reach out to russ@rennline.com who was helpful for me

No affiliation, just a happy customer..all 911s should have this IMO not just GT cars. Only downside will be cleaning the debris that makes it through the mesh now, but prefer to have that problem to debris flying into the radiators. Zunsport is supposed to do the same thing with no bumper removal required, don't know the nuances between the two other than that

Thanks! I agree something like these should be standard equipment.

One cen remove the Zunsports to clean out the openings since they are mounted from the front and do not require bumper removal for installation.

Thanks, Bob. That's great. But I don't think they're available for the base 991.2.

Yep this would be a big advantage over the screwed in Rennline mesh set

But, this is just my opinion, I was led to believe the Rennline set is a bit more "OEM looking" FWIW which was important to me (others may not care, or I could be wrong too)

Also if traveling at speed I would hope the Zunsports are still mounted strongly enough to withstand debris impact and not misalign or fall off or something. Hell same goes for the Rennline set lol

I feel like these Zunns and Renns have a slightly different wire pattern / finish resulting in a look that's not quite OEM.

This is what OEM looks like: http://www.hgperformance.co/wp-conte...1140px_009.jpg

This is the main reason I bought, didn't install, then sold the Zunnsports.

Anyone aware of an OEM-looking option?

Nope, unless you can find some mesh that matches the stuff on the GT cars and make them yourself. The Zunsports blend in well and do keep crap out and cover the FUGLY plastic center section so I am more than happy with the results for such a little bit of money. And as a reminder to those doing these put a coat of Black rattle can paint on the radiators before installing the grills so they are not as noticeable, unless you are doing Silver mesh.

Bob, I think they only have them for the 991.1 C2, not the 991.2.

My primary concern is keeping things out of the radiators. Getting a perfect GT car look is secondary, at least for me.

Maybe someone should buy a set and modify them to fit their car, but not me as I am happy with the Zuns.
