I would be very wary of that price and who is performing the work. Unless you know this shop, I would insist on being onsite when the work is performed. The parts are close to $400 and there is no discounting them. So they are doing 4 hours worth of labor, lift time and shop overhead for $100 per hour, god bless them.

They came recommended by local enthusiasts, and seemed to have good Yelp! reviews.

I have no dog in this hunt, as long as you feel comfortable that is all that counts.

Totally it's more of a data point for people looking at this thread and trying to determine what's too little or too much for this service.

I had a 10% off coupon, so it cost me 1650 at Atlanta Perimeter Porsche. For a couple hundred more than an Indy, I'd rather the dealer do it. If I saved half the cost, that would be a different story though.

Had mine done last month at a Porsche dealer in the Tampa Bay area. $1380 including tax and round trip pickup/delivery on a trailer. No loaner. The other dealer in town wanted $1730 including tax and loaner, no pickup/delivery.

I just changed my plugs. Thanks to a earlier thread providing tips. If anybody sees a problem with the plugs I'd appreciate a comment. Except for some scuffed up wrists it went well. So far I've changed oil several time, Brake bleed twice, and added 3rd radiator with grills. It's been a pleasure to work on this car. I need to change engine air filter but have not yet removed rear bumper. I have duck tail and don't know procedure. Any tips? Thanks

That's exactly what you want the plugs to look like.

Duck tail - Remove 2 fasteners slide forward and remove electrical connector. Really easy.

Plugs look great to me, no oil, no fouling. What was the condition of your coils - brittle, cracked etc.?

The coils looked good. No cracks. The terminals were clean. The chamber walls for the coils had a beautiful mirror finish. Made sure the sealing rings were clean. Thanks for the help!

Just curious since I've never changed my own plugs before... what is the purpose of numbering them?

I am assuming so if there was a glaring issue with one of them upon inspection, that he would know which cylinder it came from.

In addition to identifying a specific cylinder, valve issue, it will be a point of reference to establish a baseline for future plug changes. If one plug seems to have deteriorated from the baseline, it may be significant in the diagnosis, assuming someone keeps the car for 2 plug changes. In a GT series car, plug changes are much more frequent.

I just had my 40k done - a little early at 37.5k but the oil change was due so what the hell.

I had the brake fluid flushed also.

$2300.
