991.2 MF wheel retrofit in 991.2
#18
Alright, I went ahead and purchased a new MF heated GT steering wheel from another member and ordered a new clock spring from the dealer.
Was told today, unless the wheel was purchased from a dealer with a purchase order number, Porsche will not release the code.
Anyone encounter this or have a workaround?

Apparently the Russians will sell the code to you. I don’t have a link, but others have mentioned it. I wish I knew you needed one and I could have given you one from my wheel as I am not using MF as Porsche won’t give a code for a GT3.

My queston exactly! Thinking about doing this to my 991.2 without SC...
Also would the stalk need to be removed (the one under the wiper)?
Maybe it's not worth the trouble but I'd like to know what's required.
Re-Read the post for the 20th time and THINK I understand...
1)Need Switch
Remove Airbag and check to see if Module and Harness are there...
2) Need Module (IF not there OR there but no connectors for harness)
3)Need Harness IF not there or current harness doesn't have connectors for the module.
4) must be "coded" after installed.
Don't know if the bottom stalk will function (think it would be bypassed) but don't need it anymore. But it would require pulling wheel to remove and that's extra work that's not necessary...

This is the same situation i am in also.
I have a 2018 911 Turbo S 991.2. It didn’t come with multifunction steering wheel controls but it does have the mode dial. So following some of the posts on this great forum, I bought and installed the steering wheel controls into the same steering wheel that came with the car. I also used the factory module the car came with as it had provisions for the steering wheel controls plugs. OE/OEM Part Number 95B959538c, 95B959537c for the controls.
Took the car to the dealer and they have programed the multifunction but after several hours they can't get them to work. They say I need a vin activation code.
I was told by someone that the 991.2 didn't need a vin activation code.
Anyone have any experience/success with this? Thank you in advance.

Anyone know the part number for the bezils that go behind the steering wheel multifunction controls in black? The dealer keeps ordering me the ones for the NON multifunction steering wheel.
