This!

I am surprised all the people recommending banging, heating, or drilling (!) into this panel did not consider that an air bag module, including the explosive gas charge, sits inside.

I would have it replaced just to make sure the air bag functions correctly if you need it.

i am most definitely having the dealer handle this. I just wanted to determine if this piece was replaceable before calling tomorrow.

I have the same seats. I would insist on the tint installer to make it right. I doubt the plastic can be fixed. I'd certainly get to the dealer and start going through the shop parts listing and see what it takes to replace the panel(s). Sorry man.

normally I wouldn't stress about these kind of things. But it's in plain sight when I get into the car and I'm worried about the air bag function.

Could have been the seat belt buckle getting wedged between seat and panel behind the door. Look for a corresponding blemish inside below B pillar. Those guys move the seats up and back to allow a bit more room to work and when all the way back, there isn't much clearance.
