what you guys think, if Alfa had a better start and Porsche didnt use the launch control, would be close call?

No. Too many disadvantages with the Alfa.

Less power
heavier car
RWD vs AWD
Slower shifting DCT

Launch control makes it a no contest. Considering the price delta they should put it up against the base Carrera. I bet it would be close but not sure.

If the Alfa does win it will likely break down right after. The bad publicity they've gotten on a wide array of issues is crazy.

But it sounds awesome and looks cool. I hope they figure out how to correct the issues.

i agree with all those disadvantages however with a base carrera? comon

with a carrera targa 4 gts it was a close call, i think it can take a base carrera and s easily.

According to Car and Driver, the Quadrifoglio runs the quarter in 11.9 seconds at 121 mph.

The Carrera S with PDK runs 11.4 at 123, easily beating the Alfa.

The base Carrera would probably be pretty close to the Alfa's time.

The Alpha also is shown to break down into limp mode in most of the road tests. Fiat claims it is a software problem. They should contact VW, which knows how to fix software.

completely different cars.

I like the Jag sedans in this segment. However... would actually buy a C43 over these cars. C63s if you are superpower hungry.

Completely different price points.
Still unfair to compare it to a Carrera S.
A well equipped Alfa QV is $78k. Way cheaper than a well equipped base Carrera.
For the money, the Alfa wins. Have you guys driven one? You should.
Alfa has always had reliability issues and they are improving. I know 2 locals with the Alfa and they have had zero issues so far. However, there are numerous journalist reports with issues. I had an Alfa 4C that was bought back under Lemon Law, but I'm seriously considering a 2018 Alfa Quadrofoglio. I guess I'm a sucker.

No - not even close.

I don't think you have a good understanding of Porsche. The QF is on par with a C63AMG or M3.

All of which get wiped by a Cayman S.

Alfa dealer network "thin" in many parts of the country still. That combined with any potential reliability issues would give me pause. Plus, no MT. Off the list.

I would love to test drive the Alfa. I wouldn't own one (again).
