it's fun watching people debate buying the 530hp or 580hp car. we're lucky we can. My turbo s is a genuine thrill every single time I step on the gas. someone said they rarely get it above 5500. I try to do that off of every light. I can't always drive 125 but I can always try to get to 60 as fast as I can.

Went with the TT and have no regrets. To some the S matters (and they should get it) but to me the S is an options package and the GT2 is the real upgrade car. The only thing I'd have liked but couldn't add was the 40hp. When I was honest with myself I only liked the fact that the number was bigger. The premium was a bit over $20k or 10% for my build. Since the street performance is indistinguishable I couldn't see it - I'll go aftermarket if the car needs more top end. Strangely though, if the S had hit the magic 600hp mark I'd have probably gone for it.

GT2 may be an "upgrade car" for those who focus on price and (maybe) image but the reality is the GT2 is a different beast to a turbo, it is much rawer and the RWD gives a quite different driving experience. The turbo is an everyday useable supercar, the GT2 can be used daily by a small percentage of hardcore drivers but its forte is on smooth tracks where it can school most other road car participants.

I went with the TTS...have been thrilled and have 22k glorious miles on my 2015.
I drive it hard and I prefer the ceramics for bite and lack of dust.
Only mod was sharkwerks exhaust...very happy with it up and down.

Maybe I'm just a bit crazy - I'm one of those guys that would daily a Lotus Exige so a GT2 with rear seats retrofit just sounds great to me. But better still would be a Cup car and a TT/TTS!

I have driven both several times and I don't think that the acceleration difference is that different but I did really like how the CCBs stopped. Maybe in typical street driving there wouldn't be a measurable difference but they definitely "felt' better - they certainly look better. Plus it has that little "S" after the Turbo on the back - I just HAVE to have that. Maybe I have insecurities - doesn't matter - I'm paying for it and that's what I want.

Of all the things that the TTS has that the TT doesn't that I could see a real world advantage to are the PCCBs. For the dust. TT brakes are dusty!
I actually prefer the look of the old fashioned brakes on my car, because the caliper color matches my color scheme better. Otherwise, PCCBs are gorgeous looking things.
Not having that extra S doesn't really make a difference to me. I grew up idolizing the 911 Turbo (930). Maybe that's why. That said - no need to justify *needing* that S. I totally get it.
I will say this - the TT/TTS seems to get no love on rennlist or in the media and I have no idea why. I'm usually pretty objective and critical of my cars - Having owned it for about 400 miles now, I have to say that this car is damn near perfect. It's truly the complete package. No offense, but the 3.0 991 turbos really don't hold a candle to the big brother 3.8 Turbos. TT or TTS, you are making the right decision here.

Agree with above posts. I have been looking for a new car but I am in love with my 15 TTS. I drive hard and really enjoy the bite of the ceramic brakes. Also, just replaced the OEM P Zero with Michelin pilots 4S...just wow!!!
The only other car on my radar is the MAC 675LT cab...but that would be in addition to the TTS.
My 2015 M5 spends alot of time in the garage...

Perhaps an appropriate analogy would be receiving Playboy every month, but with the centerfold always being the same model ... The car magazines may be valuing variety more and simply focusing on different versus best.
