Default Track prep?

Looking at 2015 S purchase for HPDE. Will be driven hard, any technical issues or prep I should be aware of on this model?

Good luck on picking up the car!

In regards to track prep, here is a recent 991.1 TurboS we outfitted with safety equipment prior to the owner taking it out.

There are plenty of other examples/ideas that I can email you links for. We have a healthy amount of track experience, if you have any questions then by all means shoot me a PM.

Switch to Pagid RSC1 pads! They are essentially the exact same pads used on the GT3, GT3 RS, and 918. The Turbo S OEM pads stop wicked fast, but they are essentially shot after events due to the temps. (They are still plenty thick, but inside they crack up badly and turn to dust, and just grind and squeal) I put about 40 days on my last 991 TTS with ZERO wear on the rotors, by the way. Pagid also makes RSC2 and RSC3, but they just put you into ABS quicker and eat up the rotors more. For mental health, I also changed brake fluid to Castrol React SRF.

You will need a lot of brakes for when you roll up behind GT3's! (just joking...no, seriously)

Otherwise, I switched out to Cobra Misano seats with sub-strap pass thru (custom made to delete COBRA logo and add diamond stitching), Schroth 6-point harnesses, and Cantrell motorsports roll bar. Also went with Techart springs, HRE lightweight wheels, Awe Tuning air buffeting reduction (it works!), Aim Solo DL with SmartyCam and Sony mic, and Sharkwerks exhaust. Used H&R springs on my last car, and they might have been slightly better for track, but don't ride quite as well on the road, since my car is 80% track/20% street.

Still trying to figure out tires. I'd like more front grip, but that will mean a change in the rear tires, too. Trofeo R is one option, and the other is going to MPSC2 265/20 front, 325/20 rear. Last, have not found a good solution for fire extinguisher. If mounted like GMG, I don't think you could reach it easily after a crash.

Good luck, and share how your car ends up.

Randy, have you had your rotors density tested? The PCCB rotors do not wear, they just burn off the ceramic binders.
Thanks for your racing seat specs, I am going to make my TTS more track dedicated, less daily driver.

Yes, density was still in spec.

Basically, the TTS is track ready. Just go drive it, up grade as you go, and replace with upgraded tires and brakes and mods as you enjoy.

We've probably crossed paths at a PCA or T2 event. Corvette ZR1, black modded Z06 ... Look forward to meeting.

Randy, Karl

What kind of alignment specs are you running on track with the Cup 2s 265/325 ? Mainly wondering about camber and if you are getting good even wear/temps? Hot psi F/R for track ?

Thank you for the great information everyone, as i just finished my second track day with this car and can tell it needs upgraded pads and fluid.. hearing light grinding and squeaking on the PCCB's. Running MPSC2 245/305 along with Techart springs and GMG Exhaust.

The brake grinding will slowly get better with street driving. When completely cooled down, use a hose to clean out any dust in the rotor holes and hanging around inside the calipers. It will get better, but not back to "new" sounding until you replace them. GT3/GT3 RS/ GT4/918 all uses Pagid RSC1 pads, which will still squeal and grind, but no where nearly as bad as TTS OEM pads.

With my 991.2, I can only get camber to -1.8 front and -2.2 rear, and I like that setup.

Glad you had a good event! It's a great track car!!
