Question for the audiophiles out there, what are your preferred settings for the Burmester or Bose sound systems beyond the default 0s on bass treble etc?

Putting aside the "it depends on what sounds best to you" stuff, what are you guys actually plugging in?

With an iPhone supplying "extreme" Spotify, I've ended up with some help from some sound analysis equipment choosing -1 treble, -1 bass on the Burmester. I have also chosen one of the imaging settings (live or surround or whatever it's called), but I don't remember which one it is.

The system sounds spectacular to me. I coworker with a 2015 TTS had the local ultra-high-end fabricators do an amazing system in his car at a cost of over $30k, and while it is capable of louder music than mine, the imaging and clarity are only a tiny increment better.

FWIW I am looking for cars to measure with my audio analyzer equipment (that's near Boston but I come down to NYC every now and then).

I do that with actual music and the resulting frequency distribution difference between original and through-the-stereo can be used as a starting point for adjusting EQs, or even recompute the entire music selection. It's not an instant fix as different music comes out differently. You get a couple starting points that are much more useful than starting out by ear (which audio people never do).

Free stuff. I just like to tinker with that sort of thing and I have a daytime job.

squid42: I have couple of examples of car stereos. And I'm in - more-or-less - Boston...

+1 on the Treble and 0 on the Bass for me. "Live" imaging mode for me as well.

I have the bose - set with surround sound box ticked. Much better that way I find. My europipe is the hero tho - playing as main lead in the background. I wouldn't want any stereo drowning that out.

While touring the Zuffenhausen factory on my ED in July, our guide mentionned the Burmeister to be 7 Kilos/ 15.4 lbs lighter than the Bose due to the Airfoil design, not using any heavy magnets.

That may make the Burmester one of the most expensive ways to reduce weight

That's EXACTLY why I am ordering it!

Not really, I just like good audio - I never expected to hear the system would be lighter weight than the Bose - not even equal in weight. Bonus!
