painted air inlet

painted air inlet
My TTS is already made so too late for changes. I ordered the outer bezel of the air inlet in the rear fender painted in the car color (Miami Blue). It did not cross my mind that it can be painted gloss black. Most of the cars that I see on Reenlist have that inlet not painted at all, and left flat black. What am I missing here, why most of you added many other expensive options but left the air inlet unchanged?
Enlighten me please.

The matte black matches the rest of the black trim pieces on the car. I see no need to change it, personally.

Most of the pieces that can be, at extra cost, painted body color or gloss black are in places that attract rock chips. If you intend to drive it a lot, rather than admire it, then the flat black plastic will look better longer than paint with rock chips.

Mine catches little rocks, sand, etc, I don't think the paint would last. Had the rear quarters wrapped after a couple of months, left the intake with black plastic.

I've seen Tatanka's miami blue TTS first hand and the miami blue bezels on the intake remind me of the 993 intakes. Looks good in person.
